Get Your Guts In Gear
GOT GUTS? GEAR UP!
Join Get Your Guts in Gear in 2012

Looking for an unforgettable adventure that supports a great cause? Join Get Your Guts in Gear for the 2012 Rides for Crohn’s and Colitis. These cycling events offer the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and ostomy communities a positive, life-altering experience in their journey with these conditions. Since its creation in 2003, Get Your Guts in Gear (GYGIG) provides critical funding for advocacy, research, awareness, and empowerment projects within the IBD community.
Whether you’re an avid cyclist looking for a great ride, a novice rider looking for a challenge, or interested in a meaningful volunteer opportunity on our support crew, we invite you to become part of this amazing and growing community. More than a Ride, these events are the foundation upon which GYGIG has built an inspired and empowered community of patients, caregivers and volunteers who carry forward the mission of the organization 365 days of the year.

Two Rides, Two Life-Changing Events!
New York's Hudson River Valley
June 8-10, 2012
The New York Ride is now a loop! Cyclists will begin and end just north of New York City and pedal through the Hudson River Valley, one of the most picturesque settings in the Northeast.
Midwest / Wisconsin
September 7-9, 2012
Starting and ending in Milwaukee, cycle through the rolling farmland of southern Wisconsin and take in the country views.

Each of GYGIG’s fully supported Rides averages 70 miles per day, plus an optional century, with two overnight camps where participants stop to relax, build lifelong friendships, and recharge with catered meals and hot showers. GYGIG provides route support, including fully-stocked rest stops, sweep vehicles, and baggage transport between welcoming overnight camps.
Get Your Guts in Gear’s riders and enthusiastic all-volunteer crew participate – and keep coming back – because they find physical strength and emotional resolve they never knew they had, and are awarded with an accomplishment they can share with their new friends long after the Ride is over. Participants also draw support from fellow riders, many of whom are touched in some way by inflammatory bowel disease or who have had ostomy surgery. Wherever the Rides take you, you’ll enjoy the solidarity of your peers.
Rider and crew registration is $85, with a fundraising minimum for each rider of $1,250 per Ride. Fundraising supports Get Your Guts in Gear, Inc. as well as the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, the United Ostomy Associations of America, and Advocacy for Patients with Chronic Illness, Inc. - - organizations committed to supporting patients, conducting research for inflammatory bowel disease, and raising awareness.
