The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Eileen F. Swan, Esq. has been appointed Executive Director of Advocacy for Patients with Chronic Illness, Inc. effective March 4, 2013. Eileen, JD, MS.ED in Rehabilitation Counseling, has gained extensive experience in the Executive Branch of New York State government, lobbying for various public interest and legislative proposals, management operations and budget preparation and oversight. Eileen has been successful writing and obtaining grants for a variety of projects that help people seeking legal services. Having a young son with chronic epilepsy, Eileen has personal experience with the needs of those with chronic illnesses.
Eileen is known not only for her managerial, writing, presentation, and mentoring skills but also for her creative vision for growth of an organization. She will assist us in our goals to provide legal services to more and more people who need them and to continue our public policy efforts that will make life better for those with chronic illnesses. Although our founder, Jennifer Jaff, is irreplaceable, we are confident that Eileen has the ability to follow in her footsteps.
